Through the Looking Glass

The truth comes out-why we all hate that girl in the mirror.

The looking glass can be a symbol of great torment to all you insecure
young women out there. For me, it is an object that is so destructive yet
sly…an obstacle in the way of feeling beautiful on the inside. Deny it all you
want hon, but we’ve all felt that horrid feeling in the pit of our stomachs
while looking at our reflections. Some of us have even wanted to throw something
at the mirror…as if that could change anything.Believe me when I say that I absolutely positively understand. After all, I am a girl.
The truth is, it isn’t the mirror that is doing the damage. It’s YOU. You and me. You and me and her and him. We all have variety of thoughts and perceptions going in and out of our brains. It’s enough to drive any girl mad. You see, it isn’t the mirror that makes you feel ugly, it’s YOU. You are the one feeling that way and only you can change that.
I’ve always wondered if there would come a day where I would not give a care to such issues…or if I could face that looking glass boldly, and smile (in a strictly non-pedophilic way…). I hope that day will come to pass…as I finally will be able to breathe again.
In the meantime,
Let us hang in there…
Yours truly,

--ella xx
